DJ's first year at scout camp. He earned two merit badges and half of three others. He claims that it sucked but I think he secretly enjoyed himself. It was only over 100 degrees on the heat index for the whole week, what a weenie! Now does that look like the face of a scout that didn't enjoy himself? I didn't think so!Time to pack up and head home! DJ is so anxious he is stuffing the stuffing out of that sleeping bag! And that was enough of that hard work! When in doubt, get another scout to do it! He still has a lot of camping ahead of him, why waste all his energy now?

So Duane wasn't going to be able to make it out to camp with DJ so he sent one of the other dads with his truck so that they could take a lot of fire wood. They were able to haul quit a bit of wood with it as well as some other gear. All was fine and dandy until the second day when the dad made a Wal-Mart run and passed out on the way back and totalled Duane's truck! It doesn't look bad on the outside except for that left side fender, but the underside was destroyed. There was absolutely nothing left intact. It was still so pretty, especially sitting next to all the cars that really were crumpled like balls of paper, it was sad to clean it out and leave it there.

The guy didn't sustain any injuries in the wreck but he took out twenty five median poles with accompanying cables! The troopers, doctors and everyone else said it was a good thing he was in that truck or he would have probably lost his life. Let's here it for the life saving super truck.....YAY!

May it rest in peace! The trooper said that the cable will, if they break lose, often whip around and slice the drivers head off in smaller cars. How lovely! As it was the cables just tangled in the underneath of the truck. Apparently the tow people were not happy, it was a mess. So once again, let's hear it for the super life saving, self sacrificing wonder truck......HOORAY!!!!

The family feels super guilty for "taking away Duane's manhood" aka, his truck! They are letting us use their second minivan until we are able to get a new vehicle. They are really nice people! We are just glad that he is ok!
